Physics is one of the fundamental branches of science. It’s based on the word ‘physis’ meaning nature and was initially a part of mathematics, astronomy, and even alchemy in ancient Greece. The ancient Greeks based a lot of the physical world on simple and elegant laws of mathematics. In the latter part of the 20th century modern physicists began exploring the fundamentals of matter in a bid to understand the physics of the world more deeply.
