What Race Were The Egyptians   To ultimately define the origin of ones race the content of genetic character, complexion, and geographical origin must be identified.   Marion Webster Dictionary defines “race” as a group or population differing in gene frequency from that of others in the same species. In order to identify the race of the Egyptians we must first understand where they came from. Although some may associate skin tone with race the factor of interracial breeding is prevalent. What anthropologist have defined as race, our modern day culture has taken the meaning out of context, and we have lost the true understanding and definition and changed it in its entirety. Being that race is completely constructed by society it is hard to define what it race on a biological level.   The genetic character of Egyptians goes back to the meaning of ancient Egypt. One of the many names of Egypt is Kemet which means “ Black Land” , or the “ Black One”. Afro centric Historiographers such as Cheikh Anta Diop argued that Kemite meant inhibitors of the people of the land had black skin. According to many studies Egypt has been a heterogeneous population from predynastic times, consisting of both Negroid and non-Negroid populations.   According to text by S.O.Y. Keita Genetic Diversity is listed as “an explanation of human biological variation.” in extant African populations have historically been shaped by a racial paradigm. Keita also explains then “In this paradigm deep genetic differences are assumed to exist between so-called "racial" groups or types, which are viewed as being composed of nearly uniform individuals and are taken as "natural".It was shown that writings composed by these types were based on detailed aspects of external morphology. Carleton Coon (1962), an accredited anthropologists who contributed to this paradigm, proposed a theory of human evolution.
