In the article “Campaigns and Elections: Mobilizing or manipulating the voters focuses on how people view or strategize for campaigns. The question of the matter is the stress level and dedication proven after the election or the votes are made. This a lot of times keeps voters confused on how to vote during the election. They now judge there candidate by popularity, advertisements, ads, newspaper articles, gossip, ect. Also because the candidates trying so hard to prove themselves as worthy to the people they tend to forget about the common cause and start to manipulate the other candidate. Many people now also loose focus on the common cause and start to view the defaults of the candidates more than what they can offer. Elections start to be more of a “fashion show” than a professional campaign.
The media is a main source for misleading the voters and their votes. The media sometimes focus more on word choice of the candidates to find some negative or positive points on them. Even though this is knowledgeable, we sometimes look at these points too much and forgot the overall speech’s meaning. The media is able to approach the people easier than the candidates because some do not have availability or time to watch debates or speeches, so they have easier access to newspapers, magazines, internet, ect.
Money is also a big question in campaigns. Many people believe too much money has gone into campaign that some candidates don’t need. The media frenzy banks during election times because of the amount of money it takes for advertising and publicizing.
