Millitary Deployment As Internship For Homeland Security

My Deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom is the very definition of homeland security. The September 11th attacks were an aggressive assault on the thoughts idea’s and freedoms of this country, and since we were reacting to a show of aggression the mission Of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom fell under the mission statement of the national guard and the reserves, who’s mission statement is simply the defense of our homeland from all threats both natural and human.   My Official tour of duty started on January 28 as we prepared to move to our mobilization station, which is the area where we would train for our deployment to Iraq. After receiving several Briefs including basic military refreshers like Military customs and courtesies, we then began our mob preparation in depth. The majority of the next’s days briefing focused on OpSec, short for Operations Security , In These classes we were briefed on how the smallest detail might compromise our safety something as simple as telling a family member what time our plane leaves or where we would be flying into our out of.   During this report I will go over our average days in FT Sill Ok, focusing on the training which I feel is the very pinnacle of homeland security, I believe that the elements we’re being deployed in support of is the same mission the same reason that homeland security is now a certificate program and eventually will become a degree program. I won’t be able to cover everything we’ve done in the last two months to prepare for this deployment simply because our training schedule has been so massive that I won’t have time too, If it’s one this the army has mastered it’s making the most of every minute but I will do my best to touch on the subjects that I feel are the most important   After flying out to Ft Sill, Oklahoma our training began in depth and this is where the bulk of what we’ve done can be related to homeland security, as we haven’t reached Iraq yet and are...
