Providence Health Services
Providence Health Services is a not-for-profit health system committed to providing a comprehensive array of services to meet the needs of communities across five states, including Alaska, Washington, Montana, Oregon and California. Providence had problems with the ability to identify opportunities for financial improvement in order to enhance cash flow and assess the collectability of the current receivables.
Perot Systems was been contracted by Providence Health Services to provide resolution and accounts receivable recovery on accounts at Day 120 from assignment to HSNW for the Providence Alaska, Providence Washington/Montana, and Swedish facilities.
This is a large engagement for Perot Systems at Providence Health Services, and directly follows the wind down of the project tied to the conversion of business office processes for the Providence facilities in Eastern Washington to the RBO in Renton, Washington.
The primary objective of Providence Health Services was to provide all client facilities with a year-end accounts receivable aged trial balance that represents a true and accurate snap shot of collectable dollars for the subsequent year. Perot Systems has been tasked with identification of collectible dollars and potential improvement of collection activities, while collecting additional dollars prior to the end of the calendar year. As part of the scope of the project Perot Systems will offer feedback and knowledge-based assistance with ongoing issues in an effort to enhance the client’s performance beyond the end of the project.
Perot Systems Project Team applied the following methodology of data gathering and analysis to support the observations contained in this report.
• Account sampling
• Account review and resolution
