Impact of Management Behavior

    With the plan merger between InterClean, Inc and EnviroTech there some management issues I believe need to be address in regard to management behavior, employment laws, and workplace diversity.   As a manager having the correct behavior is an important example for employees to follow. From my personal experience starting with a positive attitude a manager must relay a positive, upbeat attitude that an employee will be willing to follow. Studies show that workers with positive attitudes are 50% more likely to achieve customer loyalty and 44% are more likely to achieve above average profitability (Cascio, 2005). All organizations have steps that each manager can focus on to create increase employee productivity.   To start all managers must make employees believe that they are a valued part of the organization, plus all employees should understand what is expected of them. Employees are the lifeblood to many organizations, so they must be recognized and appreciated.   Employee incentives are very important in getting the best out of employee. Whether the incentives are financial, extra time off work, overtime, or potential promotion, an employee who is given a chance to reach incentives is a motivated employee. Managers should always make employees see that their opinions and ideas matter. An employee, with ideas about how productivity in the workplace would be increase, is an individual who needs to be listened to by the manager. If an employee believes that the manager is willing to listen to his or her thoughts and ideas makes for a productive employee. A manager must also show his or her employees that they are cared about as human beings, not just people who punch a clock.
