Araby

Araby by James Joyce   The story is about a boy’s first love with his friend’s sister and what was happened at Araby bazzar.   There was an uninhabited house at the end of a quiet street, detached from its neighbours. The former tenant of the house was a priest, after his death, the boy moved into the house with his aunt and uncle.   The little boy was too shy to tell the girl, Mangan, that he likes her, so that he only watch and wait for her to appear every morning.   Finally, he got a chance to talk to her at one evening, Mangan was asking if he will go to Araby. And he promised he will bring her something if he goes, as Mangan couldn’t go to there. He was longing for the day till he can go to the Araby bazaar after he chatted with Mangan.   He was trying to find a cheaper entrance, the boy paid a higher price than expected to go in the hall. Nevertheless, he arrived at the Araby bazaar when it was ready to close. He was disappointed and hurt about that.   The story ended by describing him gazing up into the darkness with anguish and anger.goes, as Mangan couldn’t go to there.
