Global Communications is struggling to survive amidst rising competition from other telecom and cable companies. The stock has lost more than 50% of its value over the last few years. Global is under pressure to deliver growth and profits in order to restore the confidence of the shareholders. At the same time, the customers are demanding technological sophistications and better customer service.
To resolve this senior leadership has proposed new alliances and cost cutting measures by developing a restructuring plan for the call centers. Management’s plans to revamp the company call for lay-offs and moving current operations to other countries. This plan is raising questions regarding ethical code. Job cuts and salary cuts are strongly opposed by the Technology workers’ union as is insufficient communication.

With the proposed plan, Global can march towards becoming a profitable company and a global leader. It will be able to restore the confidence of the investors. It will also be able to provide better service and more technological sophistication to its customers.
