Why do you want a career in and feel you will be successful in your chosen field?
In today’s society, education stands as a significant factor in order to succeed. We are now being challenged by new technology and being expected to cope with a changing world. There are many factors in life that influence our decision-making, personality, and lifestyle which will determine our future stability. In my case, being a single mother, I anticipate that it is my obligation to take advantage of every opportunity. Throughout the search for a career, I realized that Accounting corresponded to my personality. I want a career because I would like to gain more knowledge in a field of my interest and to obtain financial security. I feel I will be successful in Accounting because it is a profession that I enjoy and feel comfortable working with.
Since dealing with numbers was not a problem, I was convinced that I should pursue my education in Accounting. The reason I have chosen this career is because I demonstrate a great potential in math. Dealing with math was never a struggle for me, instead it was a fun activity. During high school, I was a productive student who enjoyed math every step of the way. What captivated me was learning how to solve problems which helped further improve my critical thinking skills. Being an accountant requires you to be able to identify, analyze, and solve problems. It is a role of systemizing it, comprehending it, analyzing it, and portraying it. I like being challenged by a variety of situations and technologies.
In order to support one’s future, we must be economically stable. The world today is full of change. Technology is advancing rapidly that everything now is easily accessible. Being a mother, it is my responsibility to present a positive example and demonstrate good leadership. Therefore, I must be patient and industrious in order to attain my goals.
It is very important to choose a career where you enjoy working. My intentions during my last year in high school differ my current goals. I wanted to pursue a career in Nursing. As I discovered more about this field, I learned that it required excessive amount of endurance. I was discouraged by the hands-on experience which took place in a nursing home environment. As I acquired ideas by research, I learned that accountants work in certain places, such as banks, corporations, and government sectors. I believe I will be comfortable working in these places. At this point, I focused on accounting. As far as the surrounding is concerned, this career fitted my abilities and expectations, contrary to a hospital.
In conclusion, pursuing Accounting will help achieve my goals. It is a profession that is compatible to my personality and lifestyle. I am determined to stay focused with all that is required in order to succeed
