No [pic]civilized society should be at the service of death.[pic] Elie Wiesel once said, “Indeed, while claiming ourselves[pic] an [pic]integral part of the new civilized society aren’t we doing injustice to our very claim by propagating the theory of execution?”[pic] A [pic]heated debate is going on with people advocating t capital punishment as well as people arguing against it. "We oppose the death penalty not just for what it does to those guilty of heinous crimes, but for what it does to all of us, it offers the tragic illusion that we can defend life by taking life."[pic] [pic] There are numerous reasons the US should not allow capital punishment." Before we look at those reasons let us first take a look at the types of death penalties.[pic] [pic]There are several types of methods used for executions:
1. Hanging
2. Firing Squad
3. Electrical Chair
4. Gas chamber
5. Lethal injections
6. Stoning
7. Guillotine.
All are cruel and unjust in nature. Why do we continue in this manner when there are without a doubt other means of punishment available today in this modern world. There are plenty of reasons against the use of the death penalty:
Basic human rights denial - According to Human Rights Association the death penalty overrules our most basic right to life.[pic] [pic]
