Albert Einstein

"Science is a powerful instrument. How it is used, whether it is a blessing or a curse to humankind, depends on humankind and not on the instrument. A knife is useful, but it can also kill."

--Albert Einstein

Physicist, Born on March 14, 1879, in Ulm, Germany, Albert Einstein changed our understanding of the physical world forever. Known for his many fundamental theories that changed the way we look a modern physics. “Einstein’s many contributions to physics include his special theory of relativity, which reconciled mechanics with electromagnetism, and his general theory of relativity, which was intended to extend the principle of relativity to non-uniform motion and to provide a new theory of gravitation.”1 Many of his other contributions include an explanation of the Brownian movement of molecules, capillary action, thermal properties of light with low radiation density (which laid the foundation for the photon theory), classical problems of statistical mechanics and their application to quantum theory, the quantum theory of a monatomic gas, and a plethora of other theories.1 Most specifically he is known for his Mass-Energy equivalence or better known as E=mc2. Einstein received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921"for his services to Theoretical Physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect,”.1 Einstein published over 300 scientific works and over 150 non-scientific works. The physics community reveres Einstein, and in 1999, Time magazine named him the "Person of the Century". In wider culture, the name "Einstein" has become synonymous with genius, and has since been regarded as one of the most influential people in human history.1
Albert Einstein was born at Ulm, in Württemberg, Germany, on March 14, 1879, when only six weeks later his family had moved to Munich, where he began his schooling. When Einstein was five, his father showed him a pocket compass. Einstein realized that there must be something in the space,...
