"This site is hellacious and outstanding!!"

In the 1700s, many wealthy citizens bought lands and rented fields to families to work on it. A new crop rotation was found and improved livestock changed the living conditions for everyone. These new discoveries came because of the Scientific Revolution and the Enlightenment. The people used a scientific approach to farming and harvesting. In Great Britain, natural resources made the country rich for building things in factories. Their geography allowed 6,000 merchant ships to sail to almost every part of the globe. Trade also gave Britain a wealthy class of ship owners and merchants. The favorable climate, good banking system, and political stability changed many things during the revolution.
Many people had jobs in cities and could go into many industries. British people were now interested in science and technology. New ideas were popping up everywhere, as rewards came with them. Banks allowed people to invest in machinery, factories, or expand their operations. Fewer people were hungry, and nutrition improved. The larger food supplies and better living conditions meant that people lived longer and married younger. The young couples had children, shortening the time span between generations. The Industrial Revolution also caused some bad effects. People lost their lands from the wealthy people and were forced to go into an enclosure movement. Some had to leave and move to British colonies in North America. The others moved into the labor force industry. Many of the cities were now covered in pollution and were much more populated than before.
