Damascus And Bangalore
Damascus and Bangalore are two Asian capitals. Damascus is the capital of Syria whereas Bangalore is the capital of Similarities. Damascus is a main commercial centre of Syria and it is the oldest city in the world. Bangalore is another key commercial centre in Asia. This report will compares and contrasts some aspects of the cities.
At first sight, two cities have their obvious difference on their land area. Damascus occupies 300 sq km in the southern Syria and it located on the banks of the Barada River. Damascus has 80 km inland from the Mediterranean Sea whereas Bangalore occupies 741 sq km in the southeastern India and it located on the Deccan Plateau with an average elevation of 920m. Another differentia is that Damascus founded in 2000BC, but Bangalore founded in 1527.
The population of the two cities is a significant difference in their composition. Firstly, Damascus city has 4,500,000 people whereas Bangalore has a slightly higher 5,200,000 people. Secondly, in Damascus city the majority of population are Arabica decent, but there are small minority groups include Kurds, Armenians and Palestinian refugees, while Bangalore city the majority of the people are Indian.
Finally, there are similarities and differences between the two cities are the climate. Damascus has desert climate in two seasons—hot summers and dry winters. Bangalore has comfortable mountain climate, warm summers and cool winters. Both cities have nearly same temperature range and annual rainfall. The temperature is between 11℃ - 38 ℃ and the rainfall is 81cm – 97cm.In deeds, both of the cities have same economics structure, manufacturing and agriculture, while Bangalore has computer industries.
