Behind The Mask Of Unconventionality

Behind the Mask of Unconventionality

Since the dawn of all life on earth, one could observe many different tactics amongst various if not all species on earth, some different and some very similar of defense, dominance, and self-preservation. Now, these three particular characteristics of Earth’s many inhabitants may be similar, but are all linked to one specific aspect of life which all need to have acquired in order to survive. In essence, survival is the very thing which is mentioned here; raw and instinctive survival skills. These very skills are what have asserted our position in our world, and have permitted us along with every other living organism on this planet, to either evolve and progress, or die out with time. Seeking the unconventional to relieve one’s self from social pressures is a type of defense mechanism still in use till this day and age. In Shakespeare’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’, we can often notice this familiar trait in some of the more prestigious characters of this play, more obviously observed in Don John’s behavior. This can also be noticed while reading about Beatrice and Benedick’s ‘Battle of the Wits’ and how others may also react to their quarrels. If looked upon more deeply, one could even come to see that perhaps, with some debatable aspects amongst different point of views, that the very morality and theme of this play can come hand in hand with this particular survival technique viewed amongst Earth’s many creatures. In the end, the different psychological profile of each principal and secondary character in this specific play, maybe also with a tad of their personal history and of the people who surround them, could help us determine if wished who is most likely to demonstrate most effectively these actions, and when these occur, what selfless or selfish reasoning may or may not lie behind them.
