Animal Farm : The exclusions
The Winter was difficult and building the windwill was even more difficult as this time the walls had to be built as twice as thick as it was before.
In January the farm started running out of food and rations had to be drastically reduced – Napoleon arranged to have Whymper contradict any rumors in the outside world of a shortage on Animal Farm.
The shortage became so serious that Napoleon made a contract to sell 400 eggs a week to buy grain, until the summer when things will get easier.The hens tried to protest but Napoleon ordered that no hens will receive food until they cooperate but after five days and death of nine hens they had to agree.
Napoleon decided to sell a pile of timber that had been left in the yard and Pilkington and Frederick both wanted to buy it.Snowball was apparently regularly sabotaging the farm.
Napoleon went through the farm sniffing around and declared he found traces of Snowball everywhere.Squealer told the animals that it has been discovered that Snowball has sold himself to Frederick and was in league with Jones frrom the start.Boxer initially refused to believe this and took a lot of convincing.
Four days later Napoleon ordered the animals to gather and at a signal his dogs attacked the four young pigs who complained about the Meetings being

abolished.Three dogs seem to go quite crazy and tried to attack Boxer,who pinned one of them to the ground and then Napoleon told him to let him go and they slinked away.
Napoleon told the four pigs to conferr their crimes and they confessed to being in league with Snowball – the dogs then tore their throats out.The hens who led the rebellion over the eggs came forward and said Snowball told them to rebel – they were killed.Other animals made confessions and were killed; it went on until there was a pile of bodies.
