A Beautiful Mind
John Forbes Nash is a mathematical genius who develops schizophrenia in his mid 30’s.   Early on, he isolated himself from the world and lived in his own world of thought.   He believed in games of strategy, economic rivalry, computer architecture, imaginary spaces, prime numbers, and the shape of the universe.   By twenty one, Nash had created a theory for games where there could be a mutual gain, and invented a concept that ended an endless chain of reasoning.   He acquired his knowledge by not studying what other mathematicians had previously discovered, but re-discovered them himself.   He converted life into a series of algorithms and mathematical rules, with the absence of emotion and eventually, became famous for his idea that social be If a person greeted him in the hallway, he would furiously question them on their intent of their questions which were based on emotion.   As a child, he was viewed as an underachiever, because he ignored everything that he was taught, and went about finding other ways to do things.   He surrounded himself with chemistry dangerous chemistry experiments and pranks.   During his mid 30’s he became insane, claiming that there were secret codes in the New York Times from other inhabitants in the galaxy that only he to read. He was diagnosed with Schizophrenia, and his symptoms became worse. He suffered from hallucinations and believed he was a religious prophecy.   A study on schizophrenia showed that it was probably connected to Nash’s strange style of thought.   He slowly recovered and was later awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
